Before NutriScan 

Predominantly, Kenny was chewing on his paws literally all day and night, which caused redness. He was also a picky eater. One minor problem was his eyes would become a little teary occasionally.  

 

NutriScan Revealed 

Kenny has food intolerances to chicken, corn, duck, cow’s milk, soy, turkey, wheat, white fish, barley, chicken eggs, lentil, millet, oatmeal, peanut, potatoes, quinoa, rabbit, rice, salmon and sweet potato.  

 

After NutriScan 

While his mom was waiting for the NutriScan test results, Kenny refused to eat his normal food. He seemed repulsed by it and was literally eating about 1/4 of what he should have been. She determined to put him on a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice with a few veggies and was making that for him at home. A few days into the new food, he seemed like he was not feeling great. A few days later, she took him to the veterinarian as he was having nausea, vomiting and diarrhea pretty severely. 

The doctor ran blood tests and gave him medications to stop the symptoms but had no idea what the cause was. They wanted to do an x-ray to rule out an obstruction in his stomach but the machine was under repair for the next 24 hours. 

In the meantime, Kenny took the medications but the next morning he was not better. His blood tests indicated nothing was wrong. His mom decided to call the Hemopet office to find out if his NutriScan test results were available, which they were. The test results indicated he was VERY sensitive to chicken. She determined to delay the x-ray and to start him on beef because the results said he could have it.  

Within 24 hours, she noticed a huge difference and improvement.  

After three months, his mom has definitely witnessed a significant difference in Kenny.  She completely changed his diet and eliminated the things that he reacted VERY highly negatively to – mainly chicken. Now that he's not eating chicken he is MUCH healthier and is biting his feet less. 

 

I felt so bad because I thought I was giving him a benign bland diet with the boiled chicken, turns out it was the worst thing I could have been doing. Ever since I switched him to a beef based diet with no chicken or chicken meal etc… he has been doing great. He used to be ultra-picky and not want to eat certain foods, turns out it's because it had the chicken products in it. Now he eats all his food without hesitation. I'm so glad I did that test. It was the most bizarre timing and in the end I am relieved to have him on a diet that isn't making him sick. I really had no idea that is why his stomach would get THIS upset and now it's perfectly clear.
